Pay It Forward Challenge

Has anybody ever seen the film “Pay it forward?”

The concept is to do a favour for somebody and instead of them repaying the favour back to you; they have to pay it forward. The idea is that in the end, more and more people will be touched by and benefit from your original act of kindness. It’s a bit like the infectious smile, if you smile normally the person you’re smiling at will smile and then they make another person smile and before you know it… Everybody’s smiling!

I’ve decided that for two weeks of February (as of today 03/02/15), I am going to blog what I’ve done each day as a purposeful random act of kindness. This way, with all of my other ways I try to create positivity, I will be extending it into other people’s lives too.

It’s also going to be International Random Acts of Kindness week from Feb 9th-15th when you can share kindness on all social media platforms with huge amounts of people joining in- all you have to do is post your act with #RAKWeek2015 and for my challenge I’m also tagging #sprinklesunshine . I am super excited for this and it would be so cool if other people joined in on it too!

I don’t know exactly how it will all go yet but I am really excited about it so as long as what I do something positive and something nice that I bring to another person’s life, I’ll take that as a job well done… I am also going to try and use some of the suggestions I’ve found here.

If you would like to follow my challenge, please like my Facebook page which I’ll be updating daily, or come back to visit the blog – I’ll be updating as much as possible! ^^

  1. I’ve always wanted to do this also, just never got around to it suppose.

I remeber a few months back at the Starbucks by my house someone in the drive through paid for the order behind the car behind them did the same and so on, for about 8 hours until one car declined and it ended. I woukd have been curious how much longer it could have went on had thar car not decline to continue the chain.

    1. Hola! ^^

Ohhhh wow, that’s so cool! Shame somebody decided to stop it, “there’s always one isn’t there?” ahaha

I love things like this too, even the simple things can really help to make somebody’s day that little bit better can’t they? For me, even after I’ve done this month of purposely doing it, I hope it’ll have become a bit more like a habit for me. I guess you can never be too kind!? 🙂

Thanks for your comment, let me know if you bring the random acts into your days too!

      1. Hiya! You are just a bundle of joy, aren’t you?! I love it! Yes, I really want to start doing random acts of kindness, I’ve been talking about it but never really actively done anything. Time to stop talking and start doing I suppose! I will buy someone something in front of me in line if they are short of change, etc, etc. Little things like that. But i need to do more and bigger!

      2. Yeahhh, I love the random ones when you don’t know the people who are receiving your kindness- it makes it more fun, I guess 🙂 Next week it is International Random Act of Kindness Week #RAKWeek2015 maybe you could do something for this, you’ll be doing it with loads of other people too so it’s a nice movement ^^ Thanks for commenting, it’s so nice to interact with people through blogging! Have a fab day & speak soon xoxox

  2. Sorry I haven’t commented. I had trouble figuring out how to get to your comment box. I wanted to comment on your smiling at strangers post too. I always smile when Impass someone or meet their eyes. Fortunately, being raised in the Midwest and now living in Texas, this is not only acceptable, but more the norm. I especially love when a man tips his hat with a “M’am” or people just smile and say, “Mornin'”. I would miss that so much. So, keep smiling and let’s change the world.

I also love random acts of kindness. another way to change the world, one act at a time.
